Enclosed is a business card dictated by Rodin, thanking Major Hecq for sending a photograph; and a letter from Frederick Lawton on behalf of Rodin, April 6, 1905, announcing to Albert Hecq that the bust of his brother Georges is finished and at his disposal. Rodin proposes to Georges Hecq's widow to make a sculpture for his tomb. [Member of the Higher Council of Fine Arts and collector of the Impressionists and Rodin's sculptures, of which he was a friend, Georges Hecq (1852-1903) helped the sculptor obtain the Legion of Honour ] Rodin was warned too late, and was unable to come to Saint-Cloud to express his sincere condolences for this misfortune. "Out of sympathy and gratitude, I had a deep friendship for Mr Georges Hecq, and I would like to do something for his tomb, probably a medallion. He asked him for photographs or portraits that would make his task easier.
