First Swedish edition of Arthur Rimbaud’s *Illuminations*, translated by Helmer Lang. It is illustrated with numerous black-and-white compositions within the text and 9 superb color plates by the Swedish surrealist painter Max Walter SVANBERG (1912–1994). A copy belonging to the Czech painter Toyen (1902–1980), bearing a handwritten dedication signed by Svanberg on the first blank page. A few tears on the cover, with no pages missing. Traces of water damage at the top of a few pages and plates. Provenance: Toyen, sent by Svanberg.
