Jean-Baptiste SAY (1767–1832). Letter from the author, Paris, October 13, 1819, to Laurent-François Feuillet, librarian of the Institut; 1 page, in-4. He presents the Institute with a copy of the fourth edition of his *Political Economy*: “I owe this to the warm welcome I receive at the Library of this respectable institution whenever I need to consult it, and perhaps the illustrious scholars it houses will not find it unworthy to be offered the book in which it was demonstrated, for the first time, that the sciences are productive and necessary to the economy of nations.”
