A letter of thanks following the death of his father-in-law, Michel Chevalier (December 19, 1879). The other letters concern requests to send his books to readers or newspapers (in exchange for reimbursement, on the distribution of wealth); the management of his relations with the printer and proofs (notably his work *Philosophie de la Colonisation* [1899] and his *Traité de la Science des Finances*, which he revised in 1905 for a second edition); favorable responses to recommendations for the young lady’s friends, etc.
