U.S. Navy officer's dagger. Horn handle with spiral decoration. Crosspiece with two quillons ending in tassels. Anchor body knot. Fully engraved, gilded and blued center-edge blade with remaining inscriptions in a banner and the U.S. eagle. Gilded brass scabbard, with plain decoration and table knob on one side and engraved foliage on the reverse. Palmette buttress. Length: 29 cm A.B.E. circa 1830-1850.
