Luigi DALLAPICCOLA (1904-1975). L.A.S., Firenze March 10, 19 - Lot 31

Luigi DALLAPICCOLA (1904-1975). L.A.S., Firenze March 10, 1968, to Marcel Mihalovici; 1page in-4, envelope. He is "working on the Epilogue to Ulysses and the score must be completely finished before the end of the month (Creation: Sept. 29, 68)". This is why he writes only a few lines begging his friend to get well after his heart attack. He rejoices at the appointment of Mme Monique [Haas, Mihalovici's wife] as professor at the Conservatoire: "this is very important for the Conservatoire", and at the enrichment of the catalog of Mihalovici's works. And he announces: "On October 1, 1967, I retired from the Conservatoire. After 35 years, that was enough"... Attached is a L.S., [June 30, 1953], recommending his colleague Paolo Fragapane, author of a book on Spontini, for which he would like a UNESCO grant.
