Broken folds and short tear in right margin. Full margins. Very rare. (This copper was not printed. Only 2 proofs of this 4th and last state are known). Provenance: Artist's studio. Jeanine Warnod, born in 1921, is shown in this print at the age of 14. She was later to become a journalist and art critic. She was the daughter of André Warnod, who coined the term "école de Paris" to describe the artists of Montmartre and Montparnasse in the early 20th century. The young woman lived in close proximity to painters (Foujita, Marcoussis, Pascin, Valadon...) and writers (Dorgelès, Mac-Orlan, Salmon...), all familiar with 60, rue Caulaincourt. She worked for Le Figaro for forty years. An emblematic figure in the art world, she is the author ofGuide Warnod de la peinture and numerous works on the Paris School.
