Beautiful flintlock shotgun. Round barrel, with thunderbolt sides, bluewashed patina, engraved with trophies, foliage and a radiating fleur-de-lys (faded), with Stéphanois thunderbolt hallmark. Round-bodied lock with "Boutet Arquebusier du Roy à Versailles" signature, swan-neck hammer (heavily cleaned). Chased iron fittings decorated with laurel leaf friezes, urn. Cut-out buttplate with rocaille border. Walnut stock with varnished leather cheekpiece edged in silver. Wooden ramrod. Total length: 126.5 cm A.B.E. circa 1760. Provenance: Former Jarlier collection.
