Embroidered purse, Ottoman Empire, 19th century Rectangular purse with side gussets, flap and double suspension strap, in garnet-red silk weave entirely embroidered with gilded metallic threads and passementerie in wavy lines. The flap is embellished with a tassel highlighted with cannetilles and small tassels repeated all around the pouch. Green silk lining. Dim. without strap and piping: 25.2 x 17.3 cm Small accidents, discoloration of the red silk. An Ottoman embroidered square, woven in two strips of linen, embroidered with polychrome cotton threads and metallic threads in a partly openwork floral design. Brick silk lining. 45 x 50 cm. As is.
