He is touched by her memory: "I think of you very often and talk about you, your talent and your equally attractive and beautiful person. Beauty is a great consolation in this sad life, and you represent it in (at least) two very striking ways. You are profoundly useful to modern society, and it should shower you with gold". He successfully performed a short play [Trois nouveaux figurants at the Théâtre de Nantes] at an evening given by Pierre Bertin at the Galerie Barbazanges: "I played an old high school principal"... He hopes she works a lot. "I do nudes in front of the wrestlers' parade at the Montmartre festival. It's quite difficult to do well - but it's a weapon against the invasion of boredom, that mortal enemy". Derain has returned from London, where he made some beautiful sets. He wrote a new play [Ruffian toujours, truand jamais]: "Vive le travail et vive la liberté!" He saw fake paintings by Rousseau, which he found very beautiful....
