COLETTE (1873-1954). L.A.S., "La Treille Muscate, St Tropez, Var" [1933], to actress Germaine Reuver, 1page in-4 (slight cracks at folds). About Marc Allégret's film Lac aux Dames, based on Vicki Baum, for which Colette wrote the dialogue. She has just sent Paris "bits of dialogue, intended for you", with "this advice: 'Germaine Reuver will perhaps make you regret having reduced Mme Mayreder's role so severely. I know you can do a lot with nothing. And I saw (in the film) Mme Mayreder as a resigned sensualist, with a kind of thick, smiling candor (except when she's being screwed)"... Attached is a L.A.S. from Jean-Gabriel DOMERGUE, Cannes August 7, 1939, to the same lady (2p. in-4), about hotels in Cannes where she could stay and recommend him.
