ROBERT HÉRAUD (1924-2010) - Lot 94
ROBERT HÉRAUD (1924-2010) Obovoid vase with soliflore neck. Polychrome enameled porcelain. Signed HÉRAUD near the base. Height: 12 cm Provenance: Annie Maume Collection Annie Maume Collection (ceramist and wife of the artist). ROBERT HÉRAUD (1924-2010) Robert Héraud, a painter, became interested in ceramics through contact with artists in Puisaye and La Borne. He studied throwing with Armand Bedu, a pioneer of the Bornois ceramic revival. His passion for painting naturally led him to working with enamels, a technique he learned on his own. By 1951, he was exhibiting his work alongside that of other ceramists in the family store he inherited, which he transformed into a gallery. Later, he worked in duo with his wife Annie Maume: she modeled, while he continued his exploration of enamels.
