CÉCILE DEIN (1929-2025) - Lot 60
CÉCILE DEIN (1929-2025) Untitled Sculptural lamp. Glazed stoneware. Signed CÉCILE inside the base. Height: 28.5cm CÉCILE DEIN (1929-2025) A little-known figure in post-war ceramics, Cécile Dein's work is resolutely modern. Trained as a self-taught artist, her early research was fueled by a fascination for antiquities, which she studied at the Louvre Museum. Her early work was marked by a collaboration with Primavera, followed by exhibitions across France, where she presented crackled ceramics. Settling in the Perche region of France in the 1960s, and later in Brittany, she created unique works in chamotte stoneware, sometimes in organic, sometimes architectural forms, notably lamps, but also pieces with plant or animal decorations.
