Valentine HUGO (1887-1968) - Lot 21
Valentine HUGO (1887-1968) Autograph notes on tracings after Picasso; 3 sheets in-4 tracing paper. Tracings of the title and 4 drawings from the original 1941 edition (50 copies in photolithographic reproduction). On the title tracing, Valentine Hugo wrote: "mon exemplaire vendu à Matarasso le 23 sept. 54 je n'avais plus rien pour le lendemain pas mille francs"... A moving testimony to Valentine Hugo's material distress in the 1950s.
