Dauendorf, Alsace, second half of the 19th century

Slightly worn and worn velvet in places.
The establishment of the Jewish community in Dauendorf dates back to 1650. In 1689, six families were registered, and this number peaked in the second half of the 19th century at around 120. The community dwindled towards the end of the 19th century due to emigration following the annexation of Alsace by the Reich in 1870. By 1934, only seven families remained, all of whom left Dauendorf before the Second World War.
