Enrico Saccchetti (1877-1967) was an Italian painter and illustrator, winner of the Bagutta Prize in 1935. He is considered one of the most famous caricaturists of the 20th century. A friend of poets, writers and publishers, he became one of the most famous advertising illustrators, notably with his series for Bitter Campari. In 1908, he was tempted by a South American adventure in Argentina, where he worked as a cartoonist for El Diario, the Buenos Aires daily.
He soon returned to Europe, spending some time in Paris before returning to Italy, where he worked for La Lettura, Corriere della Serra's monthly illustrated magazine. He designed numerous color covers and black-and-white interiors, imposing his characteristic style on the magazine for 25 years.
The publication consists of a title leaf with a small illustration, a title leaf with a full-page illustration, eleven plates, one of which is double-page, and a justification leaf with an illustration.
