Louise de Heredia, Mme Pierre LOUŸS (1878-1930). Autograph manuscript, [Livre de comptes], 1908-1912; one large in-8 volume (23x15cm) of 55 ff. in violet ink (plus blank ff.), bound in black chagrin with gilt fillets, marbled edges. Louÿs household account book. [Louise de Heredia married P. Louÿs on June 22, 1899, divorced him on July 29, 1913, and remarried Auguste Gilbert de Voisins in 1915]. Income is grouped at the beginning of each year: royalties, sums paid by Mme de Heredia or Georges Louis, sale of shares or objects (jewelry, books). Expenses are itemized month by month: rent, servants' wages, suppliers, shows, booksellers (Blaizot, Conard, Charavay, Lemasle, Dorbon...), travel, hotels, etc.; and summarized at the end of the year. 3 loose-leaf sheets summarize Louÿs's works published from 1903 to 1910, and works to be published, as well as details of royalties from 1899 to 1906. Enclosed: a receipt signed by Pierre Louÿs for 900F of his royalties (February 25, 1908, with accounts on the back), and an autograph note on the sums he received in April 1911. We enclose 2 photographs taken by Louÿs of his wife: in 1903 in the garden at the hamlet of Boulainvilliers (6x9cm); in 1907 in her room at Tamaris (9x9cm).
