Cast-iron Tetsubin, Japan, Edo period (1603-1868) In the form of an open fan, decorated on both sides with cursive calligraphy. The large side is decorated in a reserve with flowers and lotus leaves. The copper-alloy lid is inlaid with silver threads of two stylized dragons on a band of small circles. Height: 18 cm, H. raised handle: 26 cm A weld repair to a handle socket.
