Jacques Lipchitz (1891-1973) Form-sculpture. 1935. Drypoint and roulette. 220x267. Very fine proof on cream vellum, numbered and signed in pencil. Minor foxing. Small traces of oxidized adhesive on verso. Full margins. Edition of 50 proofs. This plate was intended to illustrate the book by A. Jakovski, 24 essais, Paris, ed. Orobitz et Cie, 1935. It was to bring together etchings by various artists, including Arp, Calder, Ernst, Giacometti, Kandinsky, Léger, Miró, Ozenfant and Picasso. The announced essays were never published, and the etchings were published on their own.
