[Catherine THÉOT (1716-1794) mystic and prophetess of the Revolution, known as the "Mother of God"]. Manuscript, Prédictions et lettres de la Mère Théot; 42-page in-4 paperback. Rare document on this strange prophetess, a figure of revolutionary mysticism. This manuscript was carefully copied on the back of Empire postal rates. It includes: "Note de Predictions faites en 1790, par Catherine Théot, dite la Mère de Dieu" (7p.), "Du Règne de Dieu", as well as 5 mystical letters, 1790-1793, one addressed to M. de Montazet, bishop of Lyon, another to the archbishop of Paris (June 25, 1790). Attached are Rapport et Projet de décret, présentés à la Convention... par Vadier, 27 prairial II (15 juin 1794) contre Catherine Théot; plus a handwritten prayer book by Cartier, a refractory priest, emigrated to Solothurn in Switzerland, 1786-1793 (in-12 of 84 ff., bound in half marbled basane).
