He thanks him "for the basket of excellent game". His wife is convalescent; he received at the same time as his letter "a note from Luppé of 20 Xbre who had just received our two missives of 17 7bre. Yours gave him great pleasure, as he didn't have time to reply as the ship was setting sail and he asked me to tell you about him".
