Boris VIAN (1920-1959). Autograph manuscript signed, Note sur le dossier Weldon; 2 pages in-4. Note on choreographer Mary-Jo Weldon, who is to stage a ballet to music by Michel Emer: "1) The idea of a pianist who scales and dreams is vague enough to allow Mary Jo Weldon to illustrate the dreams in question (fame, money, past love, etc.). Michel Emer's original score suggests that this will be more of a variety and fantasy ballet than a classical one. 2) As Mary-Jo Weldon has proven herself [...], it seems to us that her performance, of a rather gay character, should be fun and light. We feel that she is uniquely qualified to represent this interesting genre of music-hall ballet, and that it would be desirable to admit her to the competition".
