Henri LE SIDANER (1862-1939). 3 L.A.S., 1927-1936, to his friend Albert Dubosq; 6pages various sizes, envelopes. [Versailles 6.III.1927]. He has been ill, but has been able to resume "the work, to have soon finished my paintings of Villefranche, part of which will be exhibited at my exhibition next November. We lived through days darkened by rain and poor light, and I relived in my work the atmosphere of purity that you sequester on the coast"... - St Jean Cap Ferrat [18.I.1933]: "I was able to work in front of Villefranche with the view you know from Mr. Huysmans' house"... - May 4, 1936 (with vernissage card): he was unable to go to the Midi, "harassed by obligations"; but he will go next year to the inauguration of the Villa Ephrussi, "an opportunity to breathe for a few days under this happy sky"... 2 drawings are enclosed: - head of Albert Dubosq, graphite, signed and dedicated "to my old Dubosq Henri Le Sidaner" (23 x 17 cm, framed); - portrait of Mme Dubosq, black pencil and estompe (29.5 x 21.5 cm, identification attached by A. de Mytho).
