Léonard-Tsuguharu Foujita (1886-1968) - Lot 124
Léonard-Tsuguharu Foujita (1886-1968)
Bust of a woman (Jacqueline). 1930. Etching. Sight: 355 x 395. Buisson 30-47. Fine japon proof, numbered and signed in pencil. Some light foxing. Margins. Edition of 100 proofs. Galerie Lucie Weill éd.
The model is Jacqueline Barsotti-Goddard, then 16 years old, who frequented Parisian bohemia and whom Foujita made his favorite model at the time, as he loved her Greek profile. He made several studies and portraits of her. She was also a model for Picasso, Giacometti and Matisse, and Man Ray photographed her on several occasions.
