Lazare HOCHE (1768-1797) general. Autograph apostille (4 lin - Lot 322
Lazare HOCHE (1768-1797) general. Autograph apostille (4 lines) at the head of a L.A.S. from the lawman Boissy, Paris 30 floréal IV (May 19, 1796), addressed to General Hoche, general-in-chief of the army of the West; 6 pages in-4, address. The lawman Boissy, "charged by state with the defense of the citizens", asks for the removal from the list of emigrants of Louis-Isaac-Auguste Marconnaye, merchant, who has just been arrested: "Your humanity and your justice are a sure guarantee that you will not pronounce lightly on the fate of a citizen who has a crowd of authentic documents to prove his innocence and his non emigration"... He sends him a memorandum (attached) in which he details the documents and pleads the innocence of his client. Hoche noted at the top of the first page: "To answer that the emigrant count of Marconnai colonel of the regt of Warhen was shot by judgment of a military council".
