Juste LISCH (Alençon 1828 - Paris 1910) - Lot 99
Juste LISCH (Alençon 1828 - Paris 1910) Project for the International Exhibition of Paris of 1878 Watercolor. Signed and dated 1876 lower right. 59 x 98,5 cm The architect Juste Lisch designed the train station for the 1878 Exposition Universelle. A watercolor representing its main facade is kept in the Musée d'Orsay (INV. ARO 2000 4). Juste Lisch's station was dismantled and reassembled in 1897 in Asnières, where it is now being renovated. In the same year, Juste Lisch executed a plan now preserved at the Musée d'Orsay which represents the plans for the galleries at the Champ-de-Mars and the Palais du Trocadéro for the 1878 Universal Exhibition (INV. ARO 2000 10). Here he takes up the perspective of the whole.
