LOUŸS (Pierre). La Femme et le pantin. Paris : Georges Crès et Cie, Les Maîtres du livre, 1912. - In-8, 186 x 129: portrait, (4 ff. first two blank), 227 pp. (1 f.), printed cover. Half lemon morocco with corners, gilt filets, spine decorated in the center with a gilt quadrilobe and mosaic of blue morocco, gilt head, untrimmed, cover preserved (binding of the time). Beautiful edition forming the fourteenth volume of the collection "Les Maîtres du livre", printed at 960 copies and illustrated with a portrait of the author in frontispiece, woodcut by the Swiss painter and engraver Pierre-Eugène VIBERT (1875-1937). One of 900 copies on Rives paper, this one being a unique copy, enriched with ELEVEN ORIGINAL AQUARELLES SIGNED BY THE SWISS PAINTER AND DECORATEUR JOHN GRAZ (1891-1980). Made by the artist in 1919 for Mr. Vogt, the first was done on wove paper before the portrait, the other ten are full-page at the head of ten of the fifteen chapters of the book. Each drawing is signed by the artist except for the first one around which Graz has written the title of the book and given this precision: "with original images by John Graz. Made for Mr. Vogt in 1919." Without further indications, it is difficult to determine who this Mr. Vogt is. A very well preserved copy.
