is a manufacturer of seamless steel tubes and specific tubular products intended mainly for the oil and gas markets, but historically also for the industrial sector (mechanical, automotive and construction)
.
French tube manufacturers began to adopt a rolling process for seamless steel tubes and industrial sites were created in the North and in Burgundy. The Société française des corps creux, located in Montbard, is one of the historical pillars of the group. In 1931, an industrial and commercial partnership was formed between the Valenciennes, Louvroil and Recquignies plants, which were managed by a new company named Vallourec after the first syllables of these three towns.
This most moving collection of drawings and handwritten testimonies was assembled after the war and offered to one of the directors of Vallourec, Mr. Maurice Favart, to thank the man and the company for the parcels and attentions sent during the detention in several stalags of Vallourec employees. It is impossible to quote all the texts, each more touching than the last, written just after the liberation. One of them, quite short, gives the content of these texts: "When we were, over there, far from France / These parcels so precious, breaking through the barbed wire / Help so expected, brought health / And made us, full of hope, wait for deliverance / It has finally come, and I want to say here / To all who worked to help us, Thank you!" [signed] Marcel Malouin (?). Stalag XII F.
