Painting and the art of the book. - X. The Textils arts. - XI. Carpets. - XII. The Arts of metalwork. - XIII. Minor arts. - XIV. Ornament. - XV. Music.
The edition is illustrated with numerous black reproductions in the text, a folding color map of Persia and includes especially apart, 1483 plates, numbered from 1 to 1482 to which is added the plate 1179a, distributed in 6 folio cases, offering several thousands of photographic reproductions in black and white and in color of archaeological pieces, works of art and architectural views.
ONE OF THE LUXURY PRINTED ISSUES, bound in the publisher's half-maroquin slipcase with corners.
Some rubbing of the bindings and slipcases, not serious. The slipcase of volume 8 is damaged, with the edges broken and missing. In this slipcase, the color plates on coated paper show mostly light wetness in one margin with occasional traces of tears. Other cases are fragile.
