Two cataloged auctions each year
All varieties of ceramics are represented in Ader’s dedicated auctions: high- and low-fire earthenware, porcelain from the most famous manufacturers (Rouen, Nevers, Moustiers...), Italian majolica, foreign pieces (China, Japan), Impressionist ceramics… Utility items—primarily for the table and the bathroom—are featured alongside decorative works by the most illustrious artists, such as Nicola da Urbino, Charles-Nicolas Dodin, and Marie-Victoire Jaquotot.
A Word from the Expert
“The most sought-after pieces in the field of ceramics remain the Medici porcelains, which stem from the very first European production modeled after Chinese designs. Produced in the late 16th century, only a very small number remain today—around 70, almost all of which are housed in museums. The discovery of a new Medici piece would be extraordinary. A note to anyone who thinks they might own one: they can be recognized by the mark on the reverse depicting the dome of Florence Cathedral.”

MARSEILLE Exceptional pair of earthenware bouquetières covered with rocaille form resting on three twisted feet, rocaille handles and cover in the shape of flowers in relief. The lid is curved and pierced with holes. Polychrome decoration of bouquets of flowers on a green enamel background, the parts in relief are enhanced with gold. 18th century Mark VP in manganese. Manufacture Veuve Perrin H. 28 cm L : 27 cm Old restorations on the flowers of the holds and on a foot. Provenance: Maison Vandermeersch 23 quai Voltaire Paris The rarity of these pieces lies mainly in the water green color of the enamel background rarely used on earthenware. It would seem that in Marseille only the manufacture of the Veuve Perrin used this colored background whose duration was ephemeral from 1763 to 1765 approximately.
