Jewelry & Watches
Six auctions a year
Jewelry enthusiasts are always drawn to the creations of the renowned jewelers of Place Vendôme: Boucheron, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels... However, some newer jewelers have managed to make a name for themselves and are now sought after by collectors, such as Suzanne Belperron, René Boivin, Fouquet, Templier, Georges Lenfant, not to mention Lalique’s creations. Among the most sought-after gems, colored stones, and fine pearls are Burmese rubies and sapphires, Colombian emeralds, and diamonds.
A Word from the Expert
“Through the auctions we organize and the specialty we champion, we are committed to highlighting the historical and sociological significance of antique jewelry. Often valued primarily for the materials from which they are made, these artifacts are nonetheless precious testimonies to their era. Jewelry created as special commissions—particularly for specific events or as gifts for prominent figures—is now especially sought after by buyers. On a personal note, I would very much like to one day admire Cartier’s legendary brooch: *L’Oiseau Libéré*. Designed in 1942, this highly symbolic creation was a message of protest directed at the occupying forces. With very few examples ever produced, it is extremely rare at public auctions.”
