You go by like the wind and don't take the time to see anything! He loves cars, but dreads the days of the concours d'élégance automobile "which I preside over at all ends of France [...]. How can I reward all the competitors? Everyone imagines being the most beautiful in the most beautiful car!"... Despite these worries, the car "gives us the impression of life.
