Amusing letter written during Franz Liszt's visit to Zurich, accompanied by his friend Princess Sayn-Wittgenstein. He begs the dearest Kapellmeister ("Liebe liebe Kapellmeisterin!") to excuse him from dinner; he is very weak ("ich bin ein schwaches Geschöpf!"). Liszt wanted to see him in the afternoon; but this will probably be difficult, as he has visitors ("Das wird ihm nun wohl beschwerlich fallen, da er Besuch hat"). It would be better if he came after dinner: "somit komme ich wohl besser selbst nach dem Diner zu Euch, in der Erwartung, die ganze Kapellmeisterei am Abend bei mir zu haben". And he ends with the wishes of the poor musician: "1000000000 Grüsse vom schlechten Musikanter". Sämtliche Briefe, vol. 8, no. 105, p. 194.
