A rare and very old Macana club with engraved decoration illustrating the elegance and rigor of Guianese Amerindian forms. Finely incised with geometric motifs, it bears witness to the technical mastery and aesthetic refinement of the Arawak and Karib peoples. A weapon and symbol of prestige, the macana was worn during ceremonies as an attribute of power and distinction.
