An ancient male anthropomorphic statue in an archaic style embodying a bush genie, and covered with an important patina of sacrificial offerings such as that characteristic of monkey statues long called Gbekre monkey. Baule, Ivory Coast Wood, age cracks, accidents and missing parts visible on the base (old breaks and xylophage), an old traditional cotton stuffing on the back of the head, and two restorations, an age crack visible on the right at the head and stained on the back of the buttocks, very fine age oxidation of the wood and a very fine old sacrificial patina.
