André MALRAUX (1901-1976). Typescript with autograph dispatch, Transfer of Jean Moulin's ashes to the Panthéon, December 19, 1964; 11 leaves in-4 mimeographed at the time and stapled (small marginal strips of scotch tape on the staples).
Famous speech for Jean Moulin's entry into the Panthéon.
This typescript of the period shows slight differences from the final edited text.
Let's quote this famous passage, towards the end: "As Leclerc entered the Invalides, with his procession of exaltation in the sun of Africa and the battles of Alsace, enter here, Jean Moulin, with your terrible procession. With those who died in the cellars without having spoken out, like you; and even, what is perhaps more atrocious, having spoken out; with all the stripes and all the shorns of the concentration camps, with the last stumbling body of the dreadful lines of Nuit et brouillard, finally fallen under the crossbows; with the eight thousand French women who did not return from the prisons, with the last woman who died at Ravensbrück for having given asylum to one of our own. Enter with the people born of the shadow and disappeared with it - our brothers in the order of the Night"...
Top left, signed autograph in black pen: "Pour Madame Liliane Henneront André Malraux".
