[Georges COURTELINE (1858-1929)]. Typed copy of his correspondence to Lola Noyr, 1902-1925.
This unpublished correspondence comprises 35 typed letters or bills, perhaps by Lola Noyr herself [her death certificate indicates that she worked as a typist], and traces Courteline's brief and ardent affair (December 1902-July 1903), followed by a long friendship (until 1925), with Alix Marie Nicolas dite Lola Noyr (1868-1936), model for the painter Henner, theater and silent film actress, active from 1889 to 1914. This correspondence was probably destroyed by the recipient.

Enclosed are 13 L.A.S. from Lola Noyr in 1932-1933, to a bookseller concerning the sale of these Courteline letters, canceled for fear of a lawsuit from Marie-Jeanne Courteline, and their possible transfer to Louis Barthou, then threatening to burn it.
