Wooden Guanyin, China, 17th century Depicted standing, wearing a long, pleated robe tied at the front, holding one side of the garment in her right hand. Her face is serene, with half-closed eyes and drooping earlobes. Her hair is in a bun, with a braided lock around each ear, then falls to her shoulders. The forehead bears the urna.
