Charles-Édouard JEANNERET dit LE CORBUSIER (1887 - 1965)
Taureau VI (variant of Taureau VI from 1954), 1960
Collage of various gouache papers, asphalt paper and Indian ink on paper.
Signed and monogrammed lower right.
73 x 57 cm

A certificate from Mr. Eric Mouchet will be given to the buyer.

This spectacular collage, naturally constructed by Le Corbusier according to the proportions of the Modulor, clearly determined by the axes (horizontal and vertical), is essentially inspired by the Taureau VI painted by the artist in 1954. As is his wont when he creates a collage of this kind, Le Corbusier indicates on the work itself the two dates: 1954 for the invention of this theme, and 1960, the date of the collage's completion. Hieratic, saturated with curves, counter-curves and intense colors, this work is archetypal of the artist's last pictorial period.
