Armand Seguin (1869-1903) Breton woman sitting with black cap (horizontal pl.). 1895. Etching. 177 x 114. Field 56. Extremely rare proof on laid paper, heavily washed, annotated in pencil in the right margin : "1° Etat / tirage I I" then under the subject : "deux exemplaires", signed and dated then stamped by the artist vert prairie. Numerous accidents formerly restored on the edges of the sheet on the back, sometimes in a clumsy way, with visible traces of glue. Fine broken folds around the edge of the sheet. Scattered wide persistent freckles. All margins (fixed on the back under matting by several pieces of gummed paper). Field in his catalogue raisonné does not mention this annotated proof of the 1st state, whose date (1895) contradicts the one he gives (1893-1895).
