This is the first of four novels comprising the novel cycle *Les Jeunes Filles*, which was followed by: *Pitié pour les femmes* (1936), *Le Démon du bien* (1937), and *Les Lépreuses* (1939). One of 200 copies on pure chiffon vellum numbered 201 through 400 (no. 317), the only ones illustrated with 4 original color lithographs by Marie LAURENCIN (1883–1956). A very fine copy bound by Flammarion, in excellent condition.
