A sought-after first edition of this reference work on Toulouse-Lautrec, featuring numerous black-and-white reproductions in the text and as full-page illustrations, as well as several plates, some of which are in color. The first volume is devoted to paintings, and the second to drawings, prints, and posters. Copies numbered on Japanese paper, from a print run of 175 copies for the first volume and 200 for the second, each enriched with 3 drypoint engravings by the artist, in two different prints (black and bistre). Most of the supplementary illustrations are also in two states. As is often the case, the four original lithographs in the second volume are missing. The copies are in good condition.
