Yellow glass snuff bottle shaped like a gourd with a butterfly, China, 1820–1880 The rounded bottle is made of glass blown in a mold and carved in relief to resemble a gourd with its vines and a large leaf. A charming little yellow glass butterfly has been applied to the bottom of the bottle, and its antennae are incised into the glass of the body. The base is oval, and the neck is slightly flared.
