Enameled copper snuffbox decorated with Europeans, China, 1770–1830 Oblong and flattened in shape, the base is enamelled with pink foliage, and each side is decorated with an oval panel depicting a European figure. One is a man wearing a blue coat and a pink stole, holding a basket of fruit in his arm. The other is a woman dressed in the same colors. The collar and base are outlined in blue. A stylized blue flower adorns the underside of the base. The stopper is made of a copper alloy with a coral cabochon. Height: 6 cm Restored.
