LOUIS MAJORELLE (1859–1926)
A rare variation on the “Vigne” or “Viorne” model, without the eponymous carved decorative motifs—which are superfluous—circa 1905
A rare living room piece serving as both a serving table and a sideboard, crafted from ribbed, molded, and carved walnut. The frame and base feature highly ornate, deeply carved curvilinear grooves. The front features a central paneled door, surmounted by a drawer, and two side doors and two side niches. The top is adorned with a pediment and dynamic, carved arcades. The drawer pull is made of original patinated bronze. H. 181.5 cm – W. 172.5 cm – D. 52 cm
