P.S. by François de Monteynard and 2 others, May 8–10, 1569; 7 pages in-4 on parchment, 2 seals bearing the coat of arms under paper (ink seal of the Cabinet d’Hozier). “Record of the payment made at the towns of Chaudenay and Semeur-en-Lossois [Semur-en-Auxois] […] of twenty-four men-at-arms and thirty-one archers with fifty lances under the King’s ordinances, being under the command and leadership of Monsieur de Suze, Knight of the Order and Captain of fifty men-at-arms for himself and those of the Lieutenant, ensign, standard-bearer, and quartermaster,” according to the muster roll drawn up in Nyons on June 11, 1568… Including the list of men-at-arms and archers. The document is signed by the ensign François de Monteynard in the absence of the Count of Suze, who was ill; and by the company paymaster Germain Le Hunal and the treasurer of war Morrut; the seals of the Count of Suze and of Monyteynard are affixed.
