Invitation to the reception of Sieur Devaucour, presented by Mr. Rivière, “Master-at-Arms of the King’s Academies,” to be held in the presence of the King’s Prosecutor on Wednesday, May 24, 1758 […] at the Jeu de Paume of the Widow Liédet, Maîtresse Paulmière, Place de l’Estrapade.” The document bears the handwritten signatures of Mereau and the syndic Thonnard. [This jeu de paume court was established in 1652 on the site now occupied by 26 Rue des Fossés-Saint-Jacques and 1 Rue de l’Estrapade. It was rebuilt in 1774 under the name Braque-Latin].
