André MORELLET (1727–1819). Autograph letter, Monday the 13th, to a “very dear and highly respected colleague”; 1 page, in-8 (one edge torn, with loss of a few letters and words). In the name of his “long-standing, kind friendship,” he asks his colleague to suggest a day of the week when he might bring him “a young girl who works for my servant, in whom I take a great interest, so that you may examine her knee—or, as a skilled physician has already said, she has developed an exostosis”… On the reverse side, the doctor has written his consultation report, concluding that the thigh should be amputated.
