Pennant of the 6th Army Corps, provided by General DUPORT, its commander. Made of silk. The obverse features an ivory background crossed diagonally by a tricolor blue-white-red band, adorned in the center with a blue circle decorated with a salamander and a flame, embroidered in high relief on either side of the circle in gold canette thread and sequins with the motto “Je me ris du feu” and, in one corner, “6th Army Corps.” The reverse is plain, ivory in color. Three sides edged with gold passementerie fringes; one corner holds a cord with a tassel made of matching passementerie. H.: 40 cm - W.: 44 cm (without fringes) Signs of wear and stains. Circa 1918–1920. General Pierre-Georges Duport (1864–1939) served as commander of the 6th Army Corps from April 1918 until the end of 1921.
