DINET (Étienne).
Set of two pieces of chased and painted leather by Étienne Dinet.

Two very rare and interesting pieces of tan calf leather (168 × 112 mm), each with a chased and painted illustration, signed by the famous orientalist painter Étienne DINET (1861-1929).

These compositions, probably designed for a bookbinding, depict a young nude Oriental woman and three children at play, in a style close to that of the works reproduced in the book Mirages (1906).

Each piece is framed with a gilded fillet and a band of dark green morocco, then inlaid in the center of thick cardboard covered with marbled paper (300 × 212 mm).

Perfectly preserved copies.
